Production Support

Objective: The Production Specialist is responsible for preparing and packaging a wide range of products to ensure quality and feed safety guidelines are met while maintaining a hospitable, courteous, and efficient manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Controls, operates, and/or maintains automated production machinery that blend, mix, process, fill and package product.
• Operates equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment as trained and qualified.
• Follow operating procedures and customer specifications to produce quality products in a timely manner.
• Ensures nonconforming raw materials, in-process, and finished products are identified, segregated, weighed, and dispositioned according to procedure.
• Clean, sanitize and sterilize equipment, apply general housekeeping practices, carry out reductive handling.
• Performs work in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Feed/Safe Foods.
• Rotates through various stations, where needed, to ensure production needs are met.
• Perform and complete accurate and timely quality check sheets as defined on machine checklist.
• Understand noncompliant product holds, relay discrepancies to managers, and make corrective actions as needed.
• Perform to machine standard run rates, along increasing efficiency, and reducing shrink by playing an active role with the team members to meet company goals.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Complies with safety policies, participates in the plants safety program and is proactive with safety concerns.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
• Ability to work with and around industrial hazards and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time. Proper PPE provided.
• Ability to work scheduled shift as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience working in production is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of lifting 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Able to work on foot for extended periods of time – up to 8-hour shifts.
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and reaching.
• Able to operate industrial machinery.
