PT Oil & Gas Accountant

Position: Part-Time Oil & Gas Accountant

Seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a small energy company. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and requires an individual who can work independently while managing a variety of accounting functions, including accounts payable, revenue processing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, bank deposits, and cash management activities.
• Process Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and revenue transactions.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and perform account reconciliations.
• Complete month-end close procedures and prepare financial statements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation within the accounting system.
• Respond to owner, partner, and vendor accounting inquiries.
• Coordinate routine administrative and accounting-related tasks as needed.
• Assist with special projects and other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior oil and gas accounting experience required.
• Experience with Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and revenue accounting preferred.
• Proficiency with SSI accounting software required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
• Must reside in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week with a flexible work schedule.
Work Arrangement: Remote (Tulsa-area residency required).

The pay range for the PT Oil & Gas Accountant is $40/hour-$50/hour based on experience.
