The Controller would be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, including managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, and overseeing budgeting and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Financial operations: Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Reporting: Prepare and publish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Budgeting: Oversee the annual budget process and financial forecasting, analyzing and reporting variances.
- Internal controls: Develop and implement internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings.
- Auditing: Coordinate activities with external auditors and ensure readiness for audits.
- Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
- Manufacturing-specific duties: For a manufacturing company, this includes analyzing production costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks) and financial close software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing accounting is a plus.
