Job Overview
The Account Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for collecting quarterly purchase reports from a multitude of product and service providers doing business with FMG members. The reconciliation specialist is tasked with collecting and reviewing vendor-provided purchase reports, assuring accuracy, researching variances, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
This role partners closely with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain clean ledgers.
Key Responsibilities
· Request and communicate with FMG product and service providers to report quarterly purchase reports.
· Review and resolve discrepancies from past reports.
· Approve payment of applicable rebate and bonus.
· Track volume and rebate attributable to each FMG member retailer.
· Work with the FMG staff accountant to distribute earned rebate to each individual FMG member biannually.
· Maintain reconciliation workpapers in accordance with internal controls and retention requirements.
· Improve reconciliation processes through standardization, automation, and documentation of procedures.
Required Qualifications
· 1 years of experience in account reconciliation, general accounting, banking operations, or related financial role.
· Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify, research, and resolve variances.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large data sets.
· Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
· Experience reconciling high-volume transaction accounts and working with multiple data sources.
· Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot) or experience with data/BI tools.
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
