America is critically deficient in production of defensive munitions- we currently produce shipborne interceptors in the few hundreds per year while our adversaries are producing offensive threats in the tens of thousands per year. Furientis was started to help solve this problem- introducing a new class of cost-effective, high production rate, interceptor missiles. We're seeking motivated individuals who internalize this problem and are eager to apply their past experience in similar industries (aerospace, defense, automotive/racing, robotics) and out of the box thinking to solve this problem for the US and its allies.

The Chief of Staff works directly with the CEO and keeps the rest of the company moving by owning the operational work that sits across every function: fundraising, executive recruiting, customer engagement support, office operations, and the company systems a small team has not yet built.
This role suits someone with experience at an early-stage startup, in defense, or in top-tier strategy work. You should be comfortable owning both the operational details that keep a small company moving and the higher-stakes decisions where the CEO benefits from a sharp second set of eyes.

What You'll Do
- Build and run the CEO's operating cadence: meetings, decision logs, action tracking, and follow-through across every team
- Drive fundraising operations through Series A: data room, investor updates, diligence response, scheduling, and materials
- Support Army and Navy customer engagement: prep briefings, manage follow-up, and coordinate program-office communications
- Own recruiting operations: pipeline hygiene, candidate scheduling, reference calls, offer logistics, and onboarding
- Own office operations: the LA HQ lease, IT contractor, cleaning, catering, and the other vendor contracts that keep the office running
- Build first-pass company systems: KPI reviews, planning templates, internal communications, and operating documentation
- Project-manage cross-functional initiatives that do not yet have a clear owner
- 5 years in a high-impact operator role: prior chief of staff, startup operations, or strategy consulting
- Track record of running cross-functional projects end-to-end with senior stakeholders
- Comfort moving between strategic decisions and the operational follow-through they require, often in the same day
- Sharp written communication. You can produce an investor update, a customer brief, and a candidate offer letter in the same morning
- Fluency with the operating rhythm of a small, fast company: calendars, agendas, decision logs, action tracking
- Comfort holding sensitive context and confidence at the executive level
- Genuine interest in defense, manufacturing, or hard-tech businesses
- AI-native: comfortable building internal workflows with Claude and other modern productivity tools
- Direct experience inside a defense, aerospace, or dual-use startup
- Exposure to government capture, SBIRs, or program-office customers
- Prior fundraising support work: data room, investor updates, diligence response
- Background in strategy consulting before the operator move
- Experience standing up an office or managing facilities contracts at a small company
- Experience running an early hiring pipeline
