Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership (40%)
- Establish and lead the FinOps practice within FuntoNetwork, defining methodologies, tools, and service offerings
- Develop and implement FinOps frameworks aligned with FinOps Foundation principles
- Create standardized reporting packages for executive leadership (C-suite dashboards)
- Lead quarterly business reviews with clients, presenting cost optimization achievements and future strategies
- Build relationships with client finance departments to align cloud spending with business objectives
- Conduct comprehensive cloud cost assessments across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
- Implement automated cost optimization strategies:
- Reserved Instance/Savings Plans analysis and recommendations
- Right-sizing recommendations for compute, storage, and database resources
- Idle resource identification and remediation
- Storage lifecycle policies and data tiering optimization
- Design and implement tagging strategies for cost allocation and accountability
- Develop automated governance policies using tools like Azure Policy, AWS Config, or third-party solutions
- Create accurate cloud spend forecasts using historical data and growth projections
- Develop showback and chargeback models for internal cost allocation
- Implement budget alerts and anomaly detection systems
- Analyze unit economics (cost per customer, cost per transaction, etc.)
- Monitor cloud market pricing changes and recommend strategic purchasing adjustments
- Train client teams on FinOps principles and cost-aware architectures
- Mentor internal engineers on cost optimization techniques
- Develop and deliver FinOps workshops and training materials
- Build a library of best practices, case studies, and optimization patterns
Technical Expertise
- 5 years experience with cloud platforms: Azure (required), AWS (strongly preferred)
- Deep understanding of cloud pricing models, billing structures, and discount programs
- Experience with FinOps tools: Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, Cloudability, or similar
- Infrastructure knowledge: Virtual machines, containers, databases, storage, networking
- Automation skills: PowerShell, Python, or similar for cost optimization scripting
- Strong financial analysis background with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience creating executive-level financial reports and dashboards
