Job description
Funston Company is seeking a Grading Foreman to oversee 4-5 men. Grading crew’s task include: Clearing, digging ponds, rough grade, fine grade and ABC stone.
Funston Company is a locally owned and operated site construction that has been in business for over twenty years. Funston Company is based out of Leland, NC and services developers, general contractors and municipalities throughout southeastern North Carolina
Responsibilities/Duties
- Overseeing Grading Crew
- Entering time for all crew members
- Follow, implement and enforce safety policies, (i.e., job safety meetings, proper use of safety equipment, compliance by subs/suppliers, etc.)
- Have a working knowledge of each crew member's skill level, ability to learn and receive information
- Performs work in efficient manner, using schedules and effective decision making skills
- Ensures that all equipment is checked and serviced per equipment policies prior to using it on a job site
- Recognizes potential safety risks on job site and rectifies risks per company policy
Grading Foreman tasks include:
- Read and understand plans
- Set up and run trimble GPS
- Read and analyze grade stakes
- Manage and direct crew in an efficient manner
- Check and adjust grade
- Operate equipment – Rough and fine grading
- Dig ponds
Required Qualifications
- Highs School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six month related experience and/or training.
- Valid Drivers License
- Bilingual in Spanish (recommended)
