About the Role
Funny Face Bakery is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Print Production Manager to oversee our edible printing operation. This role combines creativity with technical problem-solving, ensuring that artwork translates seamlessly into high-quality edible prints. A large part of the role involves color correcting printed images to ensure consistency, accuracy, and a polished final product. The Print Production Manager will also manage workflows, equipment, supplies, and a small production team, working closely with our design and operations staff to maintain quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain edible printers (including Primary Eddie models) and other production equipment.
- Color correct printed images and troubleshoot issues to ensure accurate, high-quality output.
- Prepare artwork files, adjusting color, sizing, and resolution as needed.
- Manage inventory of edible inks and supplies to prevent shortages.
- Lead, train, and support production assistants to meet deadlines and uphold standards.
- Troubleshoot printer and technical issues in Windows 11 while preparing files in Mac environments.
- Collaborate with the design team to test and optimize new artwork and product concepts.
- Implement quality control processes and improve production workflows as order volume increases.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in print production, print management, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator required.
- Background in Industrial Design or a related technical/creative discipline strongly encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to color correct printed images and maintain consistent output across projects.
- Hands-on experience maintaining printers or production machinery.
- Familiarity with Primary Eddie edible ink printers is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with Prusa 3D printers and PrusaSlicer is a plus.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership experience and the ability to manage and train a small team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, on-site environment.
