The Senior Inventory Accounting Manager oversees the general workflow and productivity of the inventory process, working closely with procurement, operations, and warehouse teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise in identifying and implementing inventory process improvements and efficiencies. The Inventory Manager is responsible for measuring, analyzing and reporting inventory activities including reconciliations, variance reporting, data collection and processes for inventory security and integrity. What You’ll DoMaintain integrity of inventory records, establish procedures, and analyze complex historical transactions to identify and reconcile discrepanciesProvide detailed root cause analysis for variances and maintain inventory KPI’s and metricsBuild new and enhance existing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency in monthly closeWork closely with management from procurement, operations and warehouse teams on matters relating to purchase order creation, receiving and shipping Review monthly account journal entries and reconciliations for finished goods, in-transit inventory, freight and duty asset accrualsConduct monthly general ledger account analysis to identify trend variances or potential misstatementsComply with company identified key SOX controls and maintain the required levels of documentation and review supportOversee the entire Inventory team, with direct management of the Inventory SupervisorMaintain integrity of tooling and mold inventory and conduct ROI analysisMaintain inventory aging’s and reconcile prepaid inventoryImplement procedural and policy changes to improve departmental efficiencyCreate and maintain process documents for various duties as assignedPerform any general or ad-hoc inventory related activities upon request of the Controller or Assistant ControllerWork with external auditors on a quarterly and yearly basis regarding all aspects of Inventory and related costsWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related is required7 years Inventory Accounting experience, preferably in a consumer goods industryExperience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps, take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgementAbility to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of executive leadership and staffExcellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills. Able to discern alternatives and make objective recommendationsProficient organizational and time management skills to independently prioritize multiple tasks and bring projects to completion in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced project management ability. Able to act as primary owner of individual projects, build analysis and process while working cross functionally outside immediate work group with decision making authority. Prior experience with a publicly traded company is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel in particular)Microsoft NAV experience preferredSalary InformationThe base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121,500 - $151,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
