Crypto Research Analyst

Fundstrat Global Advisors is a leading independent research firm founded by Tom Lee, former Chief Equity Strategist at J.P. Morgan. Fundstrat serves as a bridge between traditional financial markets and the digital asset ecosystem, providing institutional-grade research to the world’s largest asset managers, hedge funds, crypto investment firms, and a growing base of sophisticated retail investors.

Fundstrat’s Digital Asset Strategy team publishes high-frequency market commentary, weekly strategy notes, and deep-dive research across crypto tokens and crypto-linked equities, integrating macroeconomic analysis, fundamentals, and market structure. We are seeking a Crypto Research Analyst to work directly with the Head of Digital Asset Strategy in a high-impact, high-ownership role.

Role Overview

This role sits at the intersection of macro analysis, crypto fundamentals, and investment research. The analyst will support and extend Fundstrat’s crypto research platform by building analytical frameworks, maintaining models, and translating complex market, protocol, and company data into actionable insights for institutional and retail audiences. In addition to market and investment research, the role will contribute to commissioned research projects, producing in-depth analysis for select protocols, companies, and funds.

Key Responsibilities

Crypto & Equity Research

• Research established and emerging crypto assets across infrastructure, DeFi, and other subsectors
• Analyze crypto-linked equities, including exchanges, miners, infrastructure providers, and asset managers
• Evaluate business models, revenue and fee drivers, token economics, governance structures, and key risks
• Engage with protocol teams and company management as part of research and diligence efforts

Fundamental Modeling & Scenario Analysis

• Build and maintain fundamental and scenario-based models for select crypto assets and crypto-linked equities
• Develop base, bull, and bear cases and translate them into valuation frameworks and upside/downside scenarios
• Analyze token supply dynamics, emissions, burns, buybacks, and demand drivers
• Support comparative valuation and relative-value analysis across tokens and equities

Model Portfolios & Market Analysis

• Support Fundstrat’s model portfolios, including both token-only portfolios and portfolios combining tokens and crypto-linked equities
• Assist with performance tracking, attribution, and rebalance analysis
• Monitor macro, cross-asset, on-chain, flow, and positioning indicators and surface decision-relevant signals

Commissioned Research Projects

• Contribute to commissioned research engagements involving deep-dive analysis of select crypto protocols, companies, and funds
• Conduct diligence on business models, economics, governance structures, and risks
• Produce clear, analytical research deliverables as part of Fundstrat’s broader research platform

Research Production & Data Infrastructure

• Source, clean, and analyze market, on-chain, and financial data for recurring and ad hoc research
• Build and maintain repeatable workflows for valuation, scenario analysis, and portfolio impact analysis
• Create clear, compelling charts, tables, and exhibits for daily videos, weekly strategy notes, and other publications
• Support the accuracy, consistency, and quality of published research

Qualifications

Required

• 1–5 years of experience in investment research, equity research, crypto research, investment banking, consulting, fintech, or a related analytical role
• Strong Excel-based modeling and analytical skills
• Comfort working with incomplete or noisy data and forming structured analytical views
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in crypto markets and financial markets broadly

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience analyzing both crypto tokens and publicly traded crypto-linked equities
• Familiarity with on-chain data sources (e.g., Dune, Artemis, Glassnode)
• Experience with DeFi protocols or token-economic modeling
• Ability to automate or streamline workflows (Python, SQL)
• FINRA Series 86/87 and/or 63

Compensation

• Base salary range of $100,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience
• Performance-based bonus tied to firm and platform results
