What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Research Associate/Lead position at Crypto Insights Group?
About Us
Crypto Insights Group (CIG) is the leading institutional intelligence platform for digital asset funds/SMAs and allocators. We provide data, benchmarking, due diligence frameworks, and strategy-level analytics to help investors confidently evaluate and allocate across the digital asset ecosystem. CIG is backed by prominent institutional investors and works with the most established digital asset managers globally. Our mission is to bring institutional-grade transparency, diligence, and discovery tools to digital assets, empowering allocators and advancing the next chapter of alternative investments.
With more institutional allocators using CIG as their independent diligence partner, from early screening to full deep-dives, we’re expanding our research capabilities. We’re hiring a Manager Research Associate/Lead to accelerate this work and help deliver the level of rigor, transparency, and manager intelligence that institutions now expect from the CIG platform.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead Manager Research & Due Diligence. Oversee all investment-level diligence within the CIG platform. Evaluate fund/SMA structures, investment processes, service providers, risk management frameworks, and governance standards.
- Allocator-Ready Reporting. Collaborate with the team to synthesize diligence findings into allocator-ready insights, benchmarking reports, and quarterly outlooks. Contribute to public research, case studies, and white papers that showcase CIG’s analytics and methodology.
- Market Scouting & Intelligence. Continuously identify emerging and differentiated managers globally. Build relationships across strategies, regions, and fund structures to enhance the depth and breadth of the CIG Universe. Support database expansion initiatives and cross-functional data quality reviews.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with product, analytics, and strategy teams to integrate diligence findings in ways that unlock new insights, increase leverage across the platform, and help produce institutional materials and analysis that outperform what any single team could deliver alone.
- Manager Support. Serve as a key resource for fund managers on the platform, helping them strengthen the clarity, completeness, and institutional quality of their investment disclosures, and profile on the CIG platform. Provide guidance on best practices and ensure profiles meet the documentation standards expected by institutional allocators.
Requirements
- Institutional Diligence Experience. 3-8 years of experience in hedge fund research, manager selection, or fund-of-funds/investment consultant settings.
- Digital Asset Curiosity. Working knowledge of crypto fund structures, custody models, exchanges, and onchain data concepts.
- World-class communicator. Clear, concise, and proactive across time zones, essential for keeping our global team aligned and accountable. Comfortable engaging senior investment professionals, fund principals, and service providers with professionalism and credibility.
- Data driven operator. You let evidence steer every move, interrogating datasets, testing hypotheses, and charting the optimal path forward. Advanced Excel is a must.
Our Culture: CIG recruits high agency self starters. You’ll run your vertical end-to-end with full autonomy while we supply the tools and support you need to win.
