Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (MacPractice)
- Handle billing check out processes including payment processing
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, updating patient information, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Support clinic operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix
- Knowledge of Functional Medicine
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing accuracy
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive health information in compliance with HIPAA standards; familiarity with health information management practices is essential
