Position Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and food safety processes within a fast-paced food distribution center. This role ensures products meet regulatory standards, company guidelines, and customer expectations while leading and developing a team of quality control associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily quality control operations within the distribution center
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards
- Conduct routine inspections of products, storage areas, and handling processes
- Monitor temperature controls, sanitation practices, and product integrity
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, including customer complaints and non-conformances
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits and internal records
- Lead, train, and coach QC team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to standards
- Partner with warehouse and operations teams to improve quality processes and efficiency
- Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in quality control or food safety, preferably in a food distribution or warehouse environment
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment (including refrigerated areas)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality tracking systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in cold storage environments
