Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR Supervisor to support and oversee Human Resources operations within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This position serves as a key resource for management and employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices. The HR Supervisor will play an active role in employee relations, staffing, payroll support, benefits administration, training, compliance, and workforce development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Advise and provide recommendations to Distribution Center management on all Human Resources matters.
- Partner with management to support employee staffing, recruitment, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Coordinate and monitor performance management programs, ensuring performance expectations are established and evaluations are completed accurately and on time.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and employees at all levels.
- Maintain strong partnerships with temporary staffing agencies to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Serve as a backup for payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
- Investigate and respond to employee complaints, concerns, and EEOC charges.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Monitor workplace conditions and communicate concerns or recommendations to management.
- Prepare and submit unemployment claims documentation in a timely manner and represent the company during unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Support safety initiatives and assist with Workers’ Compensation administration in partnership with the Safety Department and insurance carrier.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits and assist with annual open enrollment activities.
- Track and ensure compliance related to new hire documentation and pay practices.
- Supervise and support the daily activities of HR staff.
- Ensure all Form I-9 records are completed accurately and maintained in compliance with federal regulations.
- Maintain organizational charts and employee records.
- Prepare, maintain, and monitor personnel records, transactions, and status changes.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and labor regulations.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and recommend improvements based on findings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor training initiatives and conduct HR-related training sessions as needed.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
- Provide guidance and resolution support for employee relations matters and workplace conflicts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll support, workers’ compensation, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, production, or distribution center environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak).
Computer Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR-related software systems.
- Strong data management and reporting capabilities.
