POSITION SUMMARY:The Merchandise Planner is responsible for planning and managing assigned departments through an entire lifecycle. This includes creating pre-season plans, quarterly investment review and in-season business management. This position will forecast sales, markdowns, and inventory levels on a regular basis to optimize sales, margin and return on investment. Identify risks and opportunities to the business and develop action plans in partnership with their merchandising partner. Develop meaningful historical sales recaps in order to make more sound decisions on future seasons.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Create seasonal sales, inventory, and profit plans for assigned departmentsDevelop and present quarterly investment strategy at item and color level in partnership with Merchandising and aligned with strategic objectives of the brandOwn open to buy process for assigned departments, projecting business results and developing action items to maximize the businessAnalyze weekly sales, margin and inventory based on current trends. Manage appropriate in-stock positions of key products and action slow-sellers with markdown planProject for capacity and raw materials production in replenishment itemsMentor, train and develop junior members of the team. Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
