Business Intelligence Systems Analyst

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Systems Analyst to support and enhance our enterprise reporting, analytics, and data integration platforms. This role serves as a key liaison between business teams and technology solutions, ensuring reliable, scalable, and actionable data is available for decision-making.

The position will be responsible for managing and optimizing data pipelines, supporting BI platforms, developing reporting solutions, and driving continuous improvements across the organization's analytics ecosystem. The main role will focus on data integration and platform administration using tools such as Matillion and Snowflake, and a focus on reporting, data modeling, dashboard development, and business analytics using Tableau, Power BI, and related technologies.

This individual will partner closely with Planning, Merchandising, Inventory, Finance, and IT teams to deliver data-driven solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

BI Platform Administration & Data Integration

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows using Matillion and other data integration tools.
• Monitor and support data movement between source systems, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
• Manage data refresh processes and troubleshoot data integration issues.
• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, integrity, and system reliability.
• Support and maintain enterprise analytics platforms, including Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, and related technologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve data delivery efficiency.

Reporting & Analytics Solutions

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and other BI tools.
• Develop and maintain data models that support scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into actionable reporting and analytics deliverables.
• Optimize report performance, data structures, and query efficiency.
• Deliver insights and recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making.

Business Partnership & Support

• Provide ongoing support for internal reporting and planning tools.
• Investigate and resolve reporting, data, and system-related issues.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for BI platforms and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with business users to identify reporting needs and recommend solutions.
• Support user adoption through training, documentation, and best practices.

Project Management & Documentation

• Lead and manage BI and analytics initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation.
• Coordinate project activities across internal teams.
• Monitor project timelines, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
• Maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, process flows, and reporting definitions.
• Support data validation, testing, and quality assurance efforts.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting and analytics platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience supporting business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or data integration solutions.
• Experience with Matillion, Snowflake, or similar cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and relational databases.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Retail industry experience and understanding of retail planning concepts and retail math are preferred.
