Assistant Merchant - Temporary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Merchant supports merchandising and product execution activities for assigned brands and categories, with a focus on drop ship and national brand operations. Reporting to the Merchant or Senior Merchant, this role partners cross-functionally to support product launches and vendor relationships. The position assists with sales reporting, market analysis, and product setup to help support business objectives and customer needs. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing suppliers, including drop ship suppliers and national brand vendors.
• Partner cross-functionally with Drop Ship Operations and eCommerce teams to support timely product launches and ensure seamless execution.
• Coordinate and facilitate the end-to-end drop ship style setup process, including item creation, assortment selection, pricing, imagery, copy, and product activation on site.
• Manage the dropship onboarding process from start to finish to ensure products go live accurately, promptly, and without issue.
• Perform quality assurance reviews for dropship items, ensuring accuracy in product photography, categorization, descriptions, pricing, and naming conventions.
• Analyze sales performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable recommendations that enhance product performance and drive revenue.
• Support additional merchandising, operational, and analytical projects as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising or a related field
• 1-2 years of merchandising or product related experience required
• Ability to multi-task, and flexible to changing priorities
• Strong communication and follow up skills required
• Detail-oriented, strong organization and follow-up skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must
