Full of Life Recovery Center, a leading substance abuse treatment facility located in the heart of New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead the clinical operations of a behavioral health program. The ideal candidate is a licensed, seasoned professional with strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of mental health and substance use disorders, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. This role will oversee all clinical staff, ensure program compliance, and help build a strong, cohesive, and mission-driven clinical team from the ground up.

This role requires the candidate be a CCS (Certified Clinical Supervisor) through the Addiction Professionals Certification Board, or dually licensed as a LPC, LMFT or LCSW with a LCADC.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities and Skills Summary

  • Ability to supervise all clinical staff members and activities, which include monitor groups, individual therapy, and charting to maintain the highest standard of quality and effectiveness.
  • Ability to coordinate with program administration.
  • Ability to work with Utilization Review Department.
  • Ability to organize professional development and training in individual therapy, diagnosis and assessment, group therapy and charting/documentation.
  • Ability to monitor and assess staff morale and develop ongoing plan to build team spirituality and continuity.
  • Ability to participate in the recruitment and interview process to determine the appropriateness of prospective clinical staff members.
  • Ability to maintain records and documentation relative to clinical staff.
  • Ability to evaluate and appraise each member of the clinical staff team based on specific performance standards, on a timely basis. Completes a written narrative during performance or annual review, which identifies strengths and weakness, areas needing and improvement, and performance goals to be achieved.
  • Ability to communicate appropriate information from meetings conference and committee.
  • Ability to work with CEO to arrange professional staff coverage to meet the needs of the unit.
  • Ability to adhere to the center’s philosophy, goals and objectives of facility.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward co-workers, patients, and guests.
  • Ability to contribute to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated manner, keeping a positive interaction.
  • Ability to make timely request for annual leaves and reports for sick leave according to facility’s Policy.
  • Ability to establish and achieve realistic goals within position.
  • Ability to ensure and maintain the confidential nature of all patients and facility activities.
  • Ability to maintain an effective clinical organizational structure and delegate appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to function as leader of multi-disciplinary Clinical Treatment Team/staffing meetings.
  • Ability to implement plans for Performance Improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate quality of program on an ongoing basis and develops cost-effective methods to provide services.
  • Ability to deliver direct patient services, such as primary therapist, performing individual and group therapist sessions, and documentation of each event, as needed.
  • Ability to provide for staff development (i.e., supervision, educational, etc.)
  • Ability to facilitate communication with ancillary services and oversees case management services.
  • Ability to attend clinical and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information.
  • Ability to develop and implement staff schedule.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff and physicians.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of administrative, personnel and clinical policies and procedures, and ability to comply and communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.

  • Ability to maintain an effective and efficient daily staffing pattern within budgetary constraints.
  • Ability to be responsible for ensuring clinical staff meets educational/licensure requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to follow Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
  • Ability to report personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Nurse.
  • Ability to complete and forward copy of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the Safety/Risk Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Active clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in the state of New Jersey.
  • Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) or dually licensed with a LCADC.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with co-occurring disorders.
  • Previous experience in clinical supervision and program development.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation compliance.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
