Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing individualized behavioral support to individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and other behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and have the ability to implement behavioral interventions with precision and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one behavioral support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized behavioral plans in collaboration with the treatment team
- Conduct behavioral assessments and data collection to track progress and inform treatment decisions
- Utilize behavioral strategies such as positive reinforcement and redirection to promote positive behaviors
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement crisis management plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and behavioral data
- Provide medical documentation and behavioral reports to healthcare providers
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed
- Develop and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with clients, families, and staff members
- Adhere to all safety and emergency protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an ABA training program or a related field
- Experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and its application in behavioral support
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, and staff members
- Excellent crisis management and intervention skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Experience with medical documentation and reporting
- Special education training and experience is preferred
- Must pass a background check and provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
