Location: Liberty, NC
Schedule: 8-hour shifts (Monday–Friday)
Future Schedule Transition: 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule in 2027

Position Overview

FTBC, a Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in lithium-ion battery components, is seeking safety-focused and reliable Production Operators to support our growing Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) manufacturing operations.

This role is responsible for operating production equipment, maintaining quality standards, supporting basic troubleshooting, and contributing to a clean, efficient, and safe manufacturing environment. Team members will also have the opportunity to be cross-trained in cleanroom operations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations

• Operate manufacturing equipment according to safety and quality standards
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and consistency
• Perform start-up, in-process, and final quality checks
• Follow standardized work instructions and production schedules

Equipment Support & Troubleshooting

• Perform basic equipment checks and minor adjustments
• Identify and report mechanical or operational issues
• Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting as needed
• Accurately record production output, downtime, and issues

Quality & Compliance

• Inspect parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Document defects and support root cause investigations
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational procedures

Workplace Organization & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Actively support plant safety programs and report hazards immediately

Cross-Training & Flexibility

• Train and support operations in both standard production and cleanroom environments
• Assist with assembly, inspection, and packaging as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
• Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred (automotive or battery experience a plus)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Experience using hand tools and measuring instruments preferred
• Ability to read work instructions and technical documents
• Forklift and pallet jack experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work in both standard and cleanroom environments
• Ability to wear required PPE, including cleanroom garments

FUJIHATSU & TOYOTSU Battery Components (FTBC) is a joint venture between Fujihatsu Tech America, Inc. and Toyota Tsusho America, Inc. We manufacture prismatic aluminum cell cases and covers for lithium-ion batteries used in hybrid and electric vehicles.

Our Liberty, North Carolina facility supports the rapidly growing EV market and is projected to create over 150 jobs in the region.
