Duties
- Operate the cash register using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling and balancing at shift end
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or demos when needed
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to create an inviting shopping environment
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing assistance over the phone
- Support product demos for customers to encourage engagement and educate them about featured items or new arrivals
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations for smooth checkout processes
- Prior supervising experience is a plus, especially in guiding team members or managing cashier shifts
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities to serve diverse customers effectively
- Ability to perform basic math quickly for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and grocery store experience is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience in busy environments
- Familiarity with stock management, inventory procedures, and retail sales transactions
