What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Fudpucker's Beachside Bar & Grill of Destin?
1. DEFINITION:
Provides superior customer service to each guest and insures that their Fudpucker’s experience is exceeded. Takes drink orders from patrons or wait staff and prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes. Actively sells food and beverage items by offering suggestions. Mixes ingredients for cocktails and serves wines and bottled or draught beer. Responsible for the setup, maintenance and operation of the bar. Enters drink orders into register, collects payment and makes change.
2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be age 21 or older (unless state law permits younger age). High school graduate or equivalent desired.
· Must possess excellent customer service skills including pleasant and friendly demeanor.
· Must have basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes.
· Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money.
· Must be able to communicate and understand the primary language(s) of the work location and understand the primary language(s) of the guests who typically visit the work location.
· Must be able to work flexible hours; Monday through Sunday for no more than a 25-week seasonal period.
3. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
1. Greets guests in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner insuring that they have a positive Fudpucker’s experience. Offers suggestions on food and beverage items to guests.
2. Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and restaurant following standard recipes. Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serves wines and bottled or draught beer. May provides food service to guests at the bar and assists with food service to tables near the bar. Assists with to-go orders.
3. Observes guests to ensure that they are satisfied with the food and service and responds to any additional requests. Communicates with management regarding any criticisms about Fudpucker’s products and/or services.
4. Enter orders into register, collects money, and processes credit card transactions from guests and/or wait staff.
5. Is knowledgeable about Fudpucker’s history, menu offerings, specials, promotions, entertainment schedules, and other matters about which guests may inquire.
6. Ensures that all guests are thanked for their business and distributes customer comment cards prior to their departure.
7. Maintains bar area in a clean and safe manner throughout each shift and thoroughly cleans it prior to clocking out.
8. Complies with all Fudpucker’s policies and procedures as per the Employee Handbook
9. May assist others and perform other appropriate duties and routines as requested by the FOH Manager and/or other management personnel
4. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
1. Must have the ability to remain stationary for long periods time.
2. Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop.
3. Must have the ability to lift trays frequently weighing up to 30 pounds and carry them up and down stairs.
