Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Trainer to join our team at FS8 Jericho. As a trainer, you will lead engaging workouts, inspire our members, and embody our core values of belonging, compassion, communication and consistency. You will play a crucial role in fostering a welcoming environment while delivering high-quality fitness experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Before Class:
- Prepare for a pre-programmed workout by reviewing all relevant materials.
- Memorize workout timing and prepare visual, verbal, tactile, and kinesthetic cues for all movements as well as progressions, regressions, and pre- and post-natal modifications.
- Ensure the room and equipment are set up properly and neatly.
- Welcome new members, introduce them to the space and equipment, and assess for injuries and health considerations.
During Class:
- Provide form corrections, addressing members by name and leveraging all four types of cueing techniques.
- Offer appropriate modifications—both progressions/amplifications and regressions–in order to run a safe, effective class.
- Cultivate a high energy, positive environment to motivate members, helping them to understand their own strengths and push past limitations.
- Remain alert and aware of the room, responding to individual and group needs as they arise.
After Class:
- Offer praise and a friendly farewell to departing guests.
- Reset the room, tidying stations and wiping down equipment as needed.
- Update member profiles and studio management with any relevant information.
- Connect with first time visitors and trial members.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with fellow trainers and studio managers to ensure efficient studio operation.
- Be an engaged member of the team; attend regular team meetings, complete necessary program training, and workout at FS8 Jericho at least twice per week.
- Arrive no less than 20 minutes early for scheduled classes, dress in the required uniform and maintain excellent personal hygiene
- Commit to a minimum of three classes per shift, with availability for at least one weekend shift per month to meet the studio’s scheduling needs.
Membership Sales:
Trainers are often the best suited to have sales conversations as they develop relationships with prospective members during their trial period.

- Consistently delivering a top-tier workout, adhering to Key Responsibilities (listed above)
- Being committed to ensuring members come to classes and achieve results
- Caring for the studio as though it were your own
- Speaking positively about the brand and the benefits of the workout
- Checking in on a prospective member’s trial experience and needs
- Leading prospective members to a salesperson to finalize their membership
Required Qualifications:
- Personal Training certification or Pilates certification
- Experience teaching Pilates classes, personal training, or group fitness (minimum 1-2 years preferred)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for helping others improve their fitness and well-being
- Ability to motivate and engage members of all fitness levels
- Professional, punctual, and reliable
