Material Handler

Location: St. Louis

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 / hour

Description

The Material Handler will work to improve the organization, coordination and control of inventory through transfer, storage, and shipment of product, materials, equipment, and other items to and from the warehouse or storage area. This position will be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loading, unloading, and conveying of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner as directed
• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information
• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages
• Loads, unloads and sorts materials or items onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, racks, pallets, bins, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task
• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task
• Stacks and assembles materials
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment
• Participates in quality and efficiency improvement efforts
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
