NOTICE OF INTENT TO EMPLOY
POSITION: Maintenance Grounds/Central Receiving – Full Time (Flexible 40 hours/week)
LOCATION: District-wide
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
- Prior maintenance/landscaping experience required.
- Must have experience in maintaining all equipment associated with the position
- Computer Literacy (Google forms/calendar)
- Prior experience necessary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and maintain sewage pumps.
- Maintain all equipment included in grounds maintenance
- Mowing grass, snow plowing, painting, marking athletic fields for practices and games, and other general building maintenance as assigned.
- Experience with zoned irrigation and pump troubleshooting required. Knowledge of irrigation winterization.
- Ability to work constructively as a team member.
- Ability to communicate well with all persons at all levels of the school community.
- Able and willing to adjust hours and/or work overtime on short notice—this happens frequently because of rainouts and cancellations of athletic events.
- Maintain regular attendance and complete tasks on time so athletic events are not delayed.
- Report for work neat and clean.
- Apply and make decisions regarding turf fertilization, obtain the correct licensing for applying invasive weed control, and oversee the entire management of 108 acres of our facilities and grounds.
- Receive, store, and maintain all goods delivered to the warehouse in a safe and orderly manner.
- Maintain control of stock to ensure accuracy of physical inventory
- Process all UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and other delivery and return shipments.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to prepare, be responsible for deposits, and handle district funds for all departments daily.
- Willing to perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor
