The Fruit Center Gourmet Foods Department isn't your typical grocery department. It's a busy, creative, and ever-changing part of the store featuring specialty products, catering, and unique foods from around the world. It's a place where customers come looking for meal solutions, entertaining ideas, and expert recommendations, and where our team members could share their passion for food every day.

WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY DO?
No two days are exactly alike, but you'll spend your time:
o Helping customers discover great food and providing the friendly, personal service Fruit Center is known for
o Engaging with customers in a fast-paced, fun, and energetic environment
o Taking catering orders, discussing menu options, answering questions, and helping customers plan events of all sizes
o Building relationships with customers and helping create a memorable experience from inquiry through order pickup
o Assisting in the preparation of food products while following department recipes and procedures
o Maintaining product quality, freshness, and proper rotation standards
o Stocking, merchandising, and maintaining attractive displays throughout the department
o Receiving, unloading, organizing, and storing products and deliveries
o Following established company and health department sanitation and food safety standards
o Learning about specialty and gourmet foods and becoming someone customers can turn to for recommendations
o Jumping in to help wherever you're needed because that's what great teammates do

We're looking for scheduling flexibility, including one weekend day, some holidays, and occasional evenings. And unlike many retailers, our stores close at 7:00 PM, so a night shift doesn't mean working until 10:00 or 11:00.

Previous deli, food service, restaurant, grocery, or customer-service experience is certainly a plus—but we're happy to train the right person.
This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, bending, and standing throughout the shift. Team members should be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and working in refrigerated areas when needed.
