Job Summary:
The Home Health - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work with patients in their homes to provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. The COTA will help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the occupational therapist in evaluating patients' needs and developing treatment plans.
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes.
- Help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
- Document patient progress and communicate with the occupational therapist and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Provide education to patients and their families about occupational therapy and home exercise programs.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for occupational therapy services.
Requirements:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health or a related setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Kinnser/Wellsky experience (preferred)
