Frontier Regional School District is seeking a qualified Accounting Specialist to provide support to the Business Office and Director of Business Administration in all aspects of the district's financial and business services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business Administration required, Master’s Degree preferred. Comparable experience may be considered. Knowledge of fund/governmental accounting, computers, payroll systems, and municipal law.
REPORTS TO: Director of Business Administration
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains a full set of accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
2. Oversees and executes accounts receivable and payable functions.
3. Reconciliations of District funds.
4. Maintains a continuous internal auditing program for all funds.
5. Provides material as requested to assist external audits of Frontier Regional School District.
6. Issues notes and borrows money after approval of the School Committee.
7. Ensures fiscal compliance with District, State, and Federal statutes, regulations and/or policies.
8. Works closely with the Superintendent and Director of Business Administration relative to all fiscal matters.
9. In conjunction with the Director of Business Administration, prepares budgets and financial reports.
10. Participates in audits, including the annual financial audit and program audits. Initiates improvements or corrections as recommended in these audits.
11. Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements as requested by the Director of Business Administration.
12. Participates in the preparation of the State End-of-Year Financial Report, periodic progress reports, and other documents as required by the Director of Business Administration.
13. Provides support in all aspects of the business office, including but not limited to purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and benefits administration.
14. Provides support in the management of the Food Service program as needed.
15. Provides support as needed with facilities matters.
16. Performs other fiscal duties as required by the School Committee & Director of Business Administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and is benefit-eligible. $30.00-$35.00 per hour.
