SUMMARY: 

The Recovery Court Specialist provides case management, coordination, and administrative support for participants enrolled in a Recovery Court program. This position serves as a liaison between the court, treatment providers, community agencies, probation officers, attorneys, and participants to support recovery, accountability, and successful program completion. The Recovery Court Specialist monitors participant compliance, maintains accurate records, facilitates communication among stakeholders, and assists in implementing evidence-based practices that promote recovery and reduce recidivism.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:       High School Diploma/GED Required

 

Licensure:        N/A

 

Certification:   N/A

 

Experience:     At least one year of experience providing services for individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues.  Prior experience working with court systems is preferred. 

 

Knowledge/Skills:       Verbal/written communication skills. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.  Ability to safely operate motor vehicle.

 

EQUIPMENT:

Computer, fax, copier and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct participant intake, orientation, and assessment processes.
  2. Maintain comprehensive and confidential participant case files and court records.
  3. Monitor participant compliance with court-ordered treatment plans, drug testing requirements, program attendance, and other recovery milestones.
  4. Coordinate services with treatment providers, probation officers, social service agencies, employers, and other community partners.
  5. Prepare case summaries, reports, and recommendations for court staff and the recovery court team.
  6. Attend staff meetings and court sessions, providing updates on participant progress and compliance.
  7. Track participant outcomes and maintain program data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
  8. Assist participants in accessing community resources.
  9. Schedule appointments, meetings, drug screenings, and other program-related activities.
  10. Administer urinary drug screens to participants according to the Recovery Court Guidelines.    
  11. Support the implementation of evidence-based practices and recovery-oriented services.
  12. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and confidentiality requirements.
  13. Participate in training and professional development activities related to treatment courts, substance use disorders, mental health, and case management.
  14. Participate in activities to promote the referrals to the Recovery Court Proram.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
