Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient sourcing to support seasonal and special event offerings
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising units, poaching equipment, and food production stations
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Support high-volume production needs during busy service periods while ensuring quality control
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal assembly for catering events and large gatherings
- Follow food safety management protocols, including proper knife skills, portion control, and food handling techniques
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and meal preparation
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent knife skills and ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely
- Experience with food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management systems
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency across dishes
- Prior experience in catering or large-scale event cooking is highly desirable
- Demonstrated commitment to food handling standards, recipe adherence, and quality assurance
