Accounting Specialist

Frischhertz Electric Co. Inc., a 4th-generation local family-owned electrical contractor, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant. This position will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash management, payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. This role requires 5 years of accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily deposits, apply customer payments, and prepare daily cash reports/reconciliations• Perform bank statement reconciliations
• Payroll taxes and federal withholding reporting and remittance
• Prepare and submit monthly labor reporting to insurance companies
• Complete monthly parish and state use tax reports
• Administer state withholding taxes
• File quarterly and annual 941 & 940 reports
• Handle state and federal unemployment reporting and reconciliation
• Oversee annual reconciliations including W-2s, insurance audits, & annual reviews
• Accounts Payable processing of invoices Maintain corporate and individual licenses
• Manage Certificates of Insurance and bond requests
• Administer and track petty cash

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in construction or contracting
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, reconciliations, accounts payable, and regulatory reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
