FrieslandCampina Ingredients is seeking a Process Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations through process optimization, continuous improvement, and capital project execution. This role partners closely with Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient production while driving technical improvements across the site.

You will work closely with production teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and meet safety, quality, and throughput targets. The role includes planning and executing process trials for troubleshooting and product development, as well as identifying yield, throughput, and waste reduction opportunities using Lean Six Sigma tools.
In addition, you will serve as a technical resource for safety, environmental, and quality initiatives, participate in change management and incident investigations, and maintain accurate process documentation such as PFDs and P&IDs.
The role also includes ownership and support of capital projects across their full lifecycle—from defining scope and user requirements through design, installation, and startup. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

You will be part of a cross-functional engineering and operations team within FrieslandCampina Ingredients North America. The role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, R&D, Procurement, Finance, Sales, and site leadership to support reliable manufacturing and continuous improvement. This position is on-site and plays an important role in maintaining strong collaboration between technical and operational teams.
The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $80,000 to $95,000 annually. Pay is based on qualifications necessary for the position, including years of work experience, education/training, and other considerations permissible by law.

What We Ask
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Manufacturing, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Process Engineering role
- Strong understanding of unit operations such as filtration, evaporation, reactions, heat exchange, and drying
- Knowledge of food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S)
- Hands-on, analytical problem-solving mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multiple departments
- Experience supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment is preferred
