Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Assistant Coordinator to develop and deliver a detailed day-to-day curriculum focused on nature-themed activities for 3 weeks of camp at the Phillips Farm June 8-12, June 15-18, and June 22-26, 2026. The curriculum should include age-appropriate activities for campers going into grades 1-5.
  • Provide the Nature Camp Committee of the FPF board of directors with a curriculum plan by Friday, June 5.
  • Contact and engage local businesses and/or resources to volunteer to help teach specific activities and give demonstrations at the Nature Camp if appropriate.
  • Contact parents of campers before each camp session to introduce yourselves, remind them of safety guidelines, drop-off and pick-up plans, and what campers need to wear and bring to camp.
  • Work within a given supply budget and turn in receipts for expenditures for materials and supplies, for which you will be reimbursed.

Hours

  • 35 flexible hours in advance of camp for preparation time.
  • Seven hours per day of camp (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM daily; 35 hours for each week).
  • Two hours for follow-up evaluation of camp.

Education

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.

· Professional experience with youth.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Desired

· Experience in developing and delivering educational outdoor programs for youth in a semi-remote setting.

· Experience in differentiating curricula for age and ability.

· Experience in supervising staff and youth volunteers.

· Demonstrated ability to create a positive environment for youth, including an understanding of group dynamics.

· Familiarity with the history of the Palouse Bioregion.

· Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

· Flexibility to adapt activities to age levels, weather, and interest level of participants.

· First aid training (will be provided)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour
