What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Staff position at Friends Health Care Association?
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the laundry department as directed by the Environmental Director to assure that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
Essential Functions:
- Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectives.
- Label personal articles of clothing for laundry with identifying information including resident name upon admission.
- Collect, sort and weigh soiled laundry.
- Fold, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry to residents.
- Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
- Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
- Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
- Replenishes supplies.
- Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and isolation precautions.
- Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
- Always observes safety precautions.
- Other tasks as assigned.
