Position Summary
Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of the Environmental Services Coordinator position. The Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for coordination of Environmental Services Assistants and/or Porters in absence of the Assistant Director and Director. Performs routine duties within their own assigned area and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- May oversee floor and carpet projects. Schedules project work as necessary to ensure standards are met. Follows up to ensure thoroughness of completion. In conjunction with Assistant Director, coordinates with other departments as necessary.
- Communicates operational issues with A.D. Work with A.D. to continue to change processes creating a stronger, more efficient department.
- In absence of the department Director and Assistant Director, may change work assignments and/or call in staff to cover the workload as necessary.
- Assist A.D. in scheduling Annual Cleanings with residents. Schedule Annual carpet cleanings of homes with a new process of using an encapsulating machine for more efficiency.
- Provides initial training of employees and follow-up training for the department as requested. Conduct monthly departmental In-Services.
- Checks equipment for safe operation as well as cleanliness. Train staff for proper usage and cleaning is being completed for longevity & low maintenance of machines/vacuums. Learn to repair machines/vacuums for cost effective savings on sending out to Phoenix Repair.
- Ensures proper safety practices are in use by employees and reinstructs as necessary.
- Documents performance issues to Director or A.D. for follow-up.
- May complete room/home preparations and/or transfers as necessary and follows up to ensure all vacancies area ready for admission or move in
- Cleans and maintains order in all areas of the facility.
- Disposes of trash and medical waste per procedure. Have quarterly In-Services with staff to maintain proper procedures are being performed.
- Follows daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly cleaning schedules. Update checklists as needed to continue to provide the best quality service as processes change.
- Work closely with vendors during weekly, monthly visits to campus.
- Is responsible for ordering inventory from Johnston Paper on a weekly basis to ensure areas are well stocked.
- Hooking the trailer up to the company vehicle and shuttling ES staff to outside patio home cleanings as needed.
Expectations of the Position:
- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Drive company vehicle with attached trailer around campus.
- Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a "friendly" service-oriented personality.
- Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).
Qualifications of the Position:
- Education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Skill: Three to five years technical training in Healthcare related environmental services practices and procedures
- Some knowledge of driving a vehicle with attached trailer.

Conditions of Employment
- Works in clean, well-lit building, must be able to accept weekend, evening or night assignments if necessary.
- Covered by compensation, disability and unemployment insurance. Eligible for fringe benefits, paid holidays, paid vacations, paid sick leave. Benefits are prorated for part time employees.

Physical Requirements

- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by Friendly Senior Living
- May be requested to assist in the evacuation of Members or perform other procedures to protect the safety of Members, visitors and team members during emergency situations.
- Able to hook up a small trailer to the company vehicle to shuttle staff around campus.
Pay: $21.57 - $24.57 per hour
