Job Summary:
The Warranty Administrator is responsible for processing manufacturer warranty claims accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with Chevrolet and dealership policies. This role works closely with the service department, technicians, and management to maximize warranty reimbursement and maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit warranty claims to Chevrolet in a timely manner.
- Verify repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturer compliance.
- Monitor claim status, respond to claim rejections, and resubmit corrected claims when necessary.
- Maintain organized warranty documentation and records for audits.
- Ensure warranty repairs meet Chevrolet policies and procedures.
- Reconcile warranty receivables and follow up on unpaid or outstanding claims.
- Communicate with service advisors, technicians, and parts personnel regarding warranty requirements.
- Process warranty cancellations, adjustments, and credits as needed.
- Assist with manufacturer warranty audits and dealership internal audits.
- Stay current on Chevrolet warranty policies, bulletins, and updates.
- Prepare warranty reports for dealership management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a warranty administrator or automotive service office employee preferred.
- Knowledge of Chevrolet/GM warranty policies and dealership operations is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GM Global Warranty Management (GWM) system.
- Understanding of automotive repair procedures and service terminology.
- Ability to analyze repair orders for warranty eligibility.
- Strong mathematical and recordkeeping skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged sitting and computer work.
- Occasional lifting of files or office materials up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to work in a dealership office environment.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the dealership receives timely and accurate reimbursement for warranty repairs while maintaining compliance with Chevrolet manufacturer standards.
Pay: $23.79 - $28.65 per hour
