Seeking a Senior Enterprise Applications Manager to lead the Firm’s enterprise application portfolio and the teams that support it. This is a senior leadership role with broad scope across the Firm’s core legal, financial, document, and workflow systems, and meaningful ownership of where those systems meet the practice. The role oversees the Enterprise Applications, Desktop Engineering, and Applications Development teams and partners closely with attorneys, business professionals, IT leadership, practice groups, and vendors.
The ideal candidate is an accountable, collaborative leader who builds strong teams, follows through on commitments, and brings sound judgment about when to build, buy, or refine. Strong law firm or legal industry experience is preferred. This position reports to the Director of IT Security and Information Services
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop Enterprise Applications, Desktop Engineering, and Applications Development teams, including goal setting, coaching, performance management, career development, and staffing support, with a focus on developing depth across the team and documenting key processes so the group operates smoothly through absences and transitions.
- Develop and maintain the Firm’s application roadmap, ensuring technology investments align with business priorities, attorney productivity, client service, security, compliance, ad operational efficiency.
- Lead enterprise application implementations, upgrades, migrations, integrations, go-lives, and post-deployment validation, including after-hours or weekend change windows as needed.
- Own and enforce application governance, change management, documentation, communication, support standards, licensing, and lifecycle management processes.
- Has knowledge of law firm enterprise systems, including, but not limited to Aderant, INTAPP, NetDocuments, SharePoint, Milana, BigHand and Microsoft platform systems
- Serve as a trusted partner to business units, practice groups, and administrative departments, owning application outcomes end to end and following through on cross-team commitments.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, support agreements, software licensing, and application-related budget recommendations to support cost-effective and compliant technology operations.
- Evaluate emerging legal, business, AI, and automation technologies; recommend, pilot, and support adoption of tools that improve service delivery and operational performance.
- Oversee enterprise integration architecture and automated data pipeline operations connecting the Firm’s core legal, financial, document management, workflow, and business systems.
- Ensure applications meet information security, confidentiality, business continuity, records management, data retention, and compliance requirements relevant to a law firm environment.
- Provide portfolio reporting, strategic recommendations, and operational updates to IT leadership and firm-level governance forums.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field prefered.
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise applications, including experience in a law firm or legal technology environment.
- Prior management experience, including coaching, developing, and holding teams accountable for service delivery, project execution, and stakeholder support, and developing teams that operate with autonomy and depth.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology projects, enterprise application implementations, integrations, upgrades, migrations, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Track record of leading enterprise application initiatives at scale, with sound judgment balancing innovation, stability, and operational discipline.
- Strong knowledge of application administration, support, modernization, governance, integrations, licensing, lifecycle management, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms, document management systems, financial systems, workflow tools, Microsoft technologies, AI-enabled applications, and automation platforms preferred.
