Duties
- Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools
- Manage and organize legal documents within document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Support litigation processes through document review, case file organization, and data entry to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information to facilitate case development across various practice areas
- Maintain case files meticulously, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible for attorneys’ review
- Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing deadlines, filing documents with courts or agencies, and handling phone inquiries with professionalism
Skills
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant within a law office environment with familiarity in multiple practice areas such including personal injury, foreclosure, collection, credit, and bankruptcy law
- Strong knowledge of legal research platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis for effective case analysis
- Proficiency in legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw to streamline workflows
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence that are clear and accurate
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Effective interviewing techniques to gather detailed client information accurately
- Familiarity with document review processes and contract management procedures
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining high attention to detail in clerical tasks such as filing and record keeping
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette for engaging with clients and colleagues effectively
- Experience supporting attorneys with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings or managing court filings is highly desirable
