We are seeking a qualified Medical Gas Plumber to install, test, and maintain medical gas and vacuum systems in commercial healthcare construction projects. This role requires strict adherence to industry codes and standards, ensuring safe and compliant installation of systems that support patient care environments. The ideal candidate has experience in medical gas piping, holds required certifications, and demonstrates strong attention to detail and safety.

- Install medical gas and vacuum piping systems (oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, nitrogen, vacuum, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings specific to healthcare facilities
- Install piping systems using copper tubing and approved materials per medical gas standards
- Perform brazing using nitrogen purge in compliance with medical gas requirements
- Label, identify, and properly route all medical gas lines according to code
- Conduct pressure testing, cross-connection testing, and system verification
- Assist with system commissioning and coordinate third-party inspections
- Maintain cleanliness standards required for medical gas systems (oil-free, contaminant-free installation)
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 99)
- Coordinate with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades on-site
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, tests, and inspections
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols
- High school diploma or GED (trade school or apprenticeship preferred)
- 3 years of commercial plumbing or pipefitting experience, with medical gas experience preferred
- Strong understanding of healthcare piping systems and installation practices
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with copper pipe installation and brazing techniques
- Knowledge of infection control and clean installation practices in healthcare environments
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current Medical Gas Installer Certification (such as ASSE 6010 or equivalent)
- OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Journeyman Plumbing License (as required by state/local jurisdiction)
- Experience working on hospitals, surgical centers, or laboratory facilities
- Certification in brazing for medical gas systems
- Strong attention to detail and precision workmanship
- Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Physical ability to lift materials, work overhead, and operate in active construction environments
- Commercial construction sites, primarily healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, labs)
- Exposure to construction conditions including noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- May require overtime, night work, or phased construction scheduling to meet project timelines
