Process Engineering Technician - 2nd Shift
Responsibilities
- Provide hands on, real time troubleshooting support for compression and injection molding processes to maintain safe, stable production.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters within approved limits to address quality issues, scrap, cycle time, and downtime.
- Support operators by responding to machine alarms, conducting first piece checks, and resolving part quality concerns.
- Perform basic inspections and checks on molding presses, auxiliary equipment, robotics, sensors, and material handling systems.
- Document process observations, adjustments, and troubleshooting activities to support traceability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production to identify root causes and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen events, 5S, and data collection to improve process stability and efficiency.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent manufacturing experience (5 years preferred).
- Hands on experience in manufacturing environments, ideally supporting molding, machine operation, or process troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment and process issues quickly and effectively.
- Working knowledge of process controls, basic quality inspection methods, and manufacturing KPIs (scrap, yield, downtime).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook); basic CAD knowledge (SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD) a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly with operators, maintenance, and engineering teams and coach others on technical topics.
- Self motivated, detail oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast paced production environment.
