Application Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
Lead and set the technical strategy for Application Engineering, ensuring alignment with business, product, and customer needs
Manage and develop a team of Application Engineers, driving technical excellence, product knowledge, and customer-focused execution
Support and lead product development initiatives, including applications in fluid power, sealing technologies, eMobility, and electrification
Serve as the technical expert for Fluid Power Industry products, identifying opportunities where Freudenberg solutions can replace competitor products
Partner closely with customers and internal teams (engineering, quality, program management, materials, and lead centers) to support applications, resolve issues, and drive solutions
Oversee technical problem resolution, including warranty analysis, field investigations, teardowns, corrective actions, and quality improvements
Deliver technical training and value-based product presentations to internal teams and customers while supporting strategic account plans
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aeronautical, or related technical discipline)
5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment
Experience with sealing technologies, hydraulics, fluid power products, or related industrial applications preferred
Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple priorities in a customer-facing environment
Strong technical communication skills, including experience presenting product features, material knowledge, and application solutions
Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or UG NX and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience in technical training, value engineering, technical sales support, or project management is a plus
