Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Senior Accountant based in Greenville, SC. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for executing and overseeing financial activities such as filing of monthly and quarterly sales tax in all 50 states for the business, preparing and analyzing financial reports, maintaining records of assets and liabilities, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role will also involve improving financial processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support effective financial management and decision-making.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Identify and help execute process improvements.
· Assist in month end closing.
· Prepare and file all sales tax for multiple states on a timely basis.
· Reconciliation of company credit card activities.
· Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
· Prepare journal entries for recurring monthly expenses.
· Track monthly expenses against budget.
· Assist in preparation for monthly financial package.
· Support accounting team with cross training.
· Other duties as assigned by manager.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
· 4 years of accounting experience.
· 2 years’ experience preferably related to sales tax filing in multi states.
· Experience in inventory, costing, and reconciliation.
· Proficient in Excel including PivotTables and VLookup.
· NetSuite experience a must
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
· Advanced logical deduction skills.
· Must possess excellent time management skills.
· Strong organizational and analytical skills.
· Willingness to establish and maintain effective team relationships.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Works in an office setting. The ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, handheld devices, copy machine, and computer printer, and operate and monitor various equipment. Must be able to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.
- No heavy lifting is expected; exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
