Position Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC-S to join our team and facilitate group sessions for our clients in recovery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping individuals struggling with substance use and experience in group facilitation and addiction counseling. This role is critical to providing our clients education, support, and therapeutic intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate group therapy sessions for clients in the IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program).
- Conduct individual assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients.
- Provide education on relapse prevention, coping strategies, and life skills.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and session notes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Offer crisis intervention when necessary and maintain a supportive environment.
- Monitor clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to meet individual goals.
- Uphold client confidentiality and adhere to all ethical guidelines and program policies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), CSAC-S, or equivalent certification.
- Experience facilitating group counseling sessions, preferably in a substance abuse or mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of addiction recovery principles and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing and documentation (preferred but not required).
