Route Manager / Vending Route Manager

Location: Rock Island / Quad Cities area
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Start Time: Varies based on route needs and driver training schedule
Pay: Based on experience and performance

Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Route Manager to oversee daily vending and market route operations. This person will be responsible for learning every driver route, understanding the day-to-day expectations of each route, and helping make sure all routes are completed properly and efficiently.

The Route Manager must be a strong leader who can train new drivers, support current drivers, follow company procedures, and help maintain high standards for service, inventory, safety, and customer satisfaction.

This position requires someone who can lead by example, work independently, solve problems, and step into any route when needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand every vending and market route
• Be able to complete any driver route when needed
• Train new delivery drivers on route procedures, company standards, and customer expectations
• Help drivers understand how to properly fill vending machines and micro-market locations
• Assist with route scheduling, route coverage, and daily route completion
• Monitor driver performance and help correct issues when needed
• Ensure routes are completed accurately, safely, and on time
• Help maintain proper inventory levels for routes and market locations
• Review route paperwork, inventory counts, and required reporting
• Assist with loading, organizing, and preparing products for routes
• Report vending machine issues, product shortages, vehicle concerns, customer complaints, or route problems
• Help maintain clean, organized, and safe company vehicles and work areas
• Follow and enforce company SOPs, safety protocols, and route procedures
• Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, management, and team members
• Lead by example with reliability, attendance, route accuracy, and professionalism
• Perform other duties as assigned

Leadership Expectations

The Route Manager must be able to lead and train others. This person should be patient, organized, and able to explain procedures clearly to new drivers.

This role requires someone who can hold drivers accountable while also helping them succeed. The Route Manager should be comfortable correcting mistakes, answering questions, and making sure each driver understands company expectations.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Clean criminal background
• Previous delivery, vending, warehouse, route, or management experience preferred
• Ability to learn and complete all company routes
• Ability to train and lead new drivers
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and make good decisions in the field
• Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and move product throughout the day
• Must follow and enforce company safety procedures and standard operating procedures
• Must be professional when interacting with customers and team members

Pay

Pay is based on experience, leadership ability, reliability, and performance. Compensation will be reviewed based on the ability to learn all routes, train new drivers, maintain route standards, and support daily operations.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
