What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plastics Maintenance Technician position at Fres-co System USA, Inc.?
Position Summary:
Maintenance Technicians primarily supports high speed assembly operations, and injection molding through machine changes, troubleshooting and repairs, all machine TPM maintenance, breakdown/emergency repairs but will also support other functions of the Plastics Department as needed including but not limited to: troubleshooting assembly and injection molding machines, maintaining spare parts for department equipment and supporting on-going continuous improvement initiatives. Will work on CI projects as time in schedule allows
Responsibilities:
- Follows Supervisor/Managers direction for assembly operations scheduling, maintenance, and trouble-shooting
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Maintains SQF compliance
- Assists in maintaining spare parts inventory to support all production equipment
- Enters work orders for maintenance issues as needed
- Performs TPM checks, 6S, daily and weekly cleaning per Master Cleaning Schedule
- Works closely with Quality and Maintenance and Engineering to maintain quality and uptime targets
- Committed to continuous improvement and Lean practices
- May be required to cover opposite shift for vacation time off
- May be called in on off shifts and weekends for emergency situations
- Requires the ability to work overtime up to 60 total hours per week with little notice provided
- Supports Molding operation as needed by schedule or work load
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 2 years Injection Molding maintenance experience including hot runner experience; with pneumatic gate valves; mechanical side cores, and advanced hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical experience/certification(s)
- 2 years mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience, proven track record of experience
- 1 years’ experience with high-speed automated equipment
- Experience with installation/set-up of high cavity injection molds in machine ranges from 100-500 US tons
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Self-starter that can work with limited supervision
- Repetitive walking, bending, stooping and ability to lift to 75 lbs. frequently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean experience/certification
- Six Sigma experience/certification
- Bi-axial blow molding or similar background a plus
- Experience with Automation, conveying equipment, box loading/counting equipment, and PLC’s
- Experience/training in developing scientific injection molding processes
