Job Title: Golf Retail Assistant
Reports To: Director of Retail / Retail Manager
Position Summary:
The Golf Retail Assistant supports the daily operations of the golf shop’s retail side, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for members and guests. This position focuses on sales, merchandising, inventory support, and maintaining a welcoming, organized retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting members and guests, answering product questions, and offering merchandise suggestions.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, tagging, and displaying merchandise according to club visual standards.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked displays and sales areas.
- Restock shelves and fixtures as needed and monitor inventory levels.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock audits.
- Help plan and execute seasonal merchandise displays and promotions.
- Support club retail events, trunk shows, and special shopping events.
- Stay knowledgeable about merchandise, brands, sizing, and logo guidelines.
- Handle phone and in-person special orders or gift orders professionally.
- Communicate member feedback to the Director of Retail to inform buying decisions.
- Assist with opening and closing duties for the retail area.
- Coordinate with other golf departments as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
