Senior Staff Engineer

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for our Structural Department in Wall, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of building structures using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber materials.
• Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Perform advanced structural modeling and analysis using software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, or similar.
• Collaborate closely with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines to develop coordinated design solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Conduct site visits, perform field inspections, and prepare technical reports.
• Assist with project management tasks including scheduling, coordination, and quality assurance.
• Stay current with building codes, design standards, and emerging technologies relevant to structural engineering.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering (preferred) or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in building structural design.
• EIT certification required; PE license or ability to obtain within one year strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, RISA, or similar).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong understanding of applicable building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, etc.).
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $74,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
