Senior Staff Engineer - Mechanical (HVAC)

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for our Mechanical Department in Wall, NJ. 

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and municipal projects.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/piping design.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other internal disciplines for integrated project delivery.
• Assist with client communication, project documentation, and construction administration, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
• Support sustainable and energy-efficient building system design initiatives.
• Contribute to technical problem-solving and project planning within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in HVAC design.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, codes, and industry standards.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• EIT certification preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a plus or in progress.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
