What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position at Fremont Hills Country Club?
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent's supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course. The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendent's capacity during his absence.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of everyday maintenance practices for all locations of the golf course. Application experience with fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and soil conditioners. Experience with irrigation system / pump station repair and maintenance. Ability to schedule and supervise crew to achieve maximum efficiency. Maintain effective employee and public relations. Positive attitude necessary to lead and motivate crew members.
45 hour work week during growing season. Weekend/Holiday work necessary during the growing season. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Possession of a valid driver's license. Obtain / Maintain current state pesticide applicator license.
EDUCATION:
2 or 4 year degree in Turf Management or related field preferred.
2-4 years experience as an Assistant or 2nd Assistant.
- Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of the golf course.
- Schedule work and supervise daily work assignments for crew members.
- Instruct / Supervise equipment operation and mowing practices.
- Participate in daily operations/maintenance of irrigation system and pump station.
- Participate in pesticide applications and calibrate pesticide application equipment.
- Assist in personnel management, employee safety, and personnel discipline.
- Contribute to a positive work environment for all FHCC employees.
