Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathe machines to produce precision machined parts for dies and molds. The ideal candidate will read and interpret blueprints, perform quality inspections, and ensure efficient, safe production while meeting tight tolerances and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes (including 2-axis, multi-axis, or live tooling machines) according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
Load and unload raw materials, install tools, fixtures, chucks, and tooling.
Input or edit CNC programs (G-code), set offsets, and make adjustments for optimal performance.
Monitor machine operations, perform in-process inspections, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
Measure finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on machines.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety protocols (lockout/tagout, PPE, etc.).
Document production records, inspection results, and material usage.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Have:
1–3 years of hands-on experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and blueprints.
Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality control processes.
Familiarity with CNC programming basics (G-code) and machine setup.
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining preferred).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with Mori Seiki CNC Lathe.
Knowledge of or other CAM software.
Forklift or overhead crane certification.
